Sandhill Cranes

Sandhill cranes are often seen in suburban areas because of rapid habitat loss. They are also attracted to flat land and mowed grass from neighborhoods and golf courses.

The cranes come to these areas because they are rich in foods like worms and seeds.

Sandhill Cranes can become dependent upon people for food. They can become aggressive to humans if fed.  It is illegal to feed a Sandhill Crane in Florida.

Remember never to feed wildlife! They are born knowing how to hunt for their own food and do not need humans help to survive!
